The real heart of Africa.

The plains, the Serengeti, the Acacia trees, the animals. These were the last few days of our Kenya trip. We went to Masai Mara, one of the best game parks in Africa, and had a phenomenal animal viewing experience. Animals were not timid about viewers and we were able to get quite close to some of them. The only animals we missed where leopards and rhinos. The huge encounters with lions made up for that though.

Pokot, Kenya

For our trip to Kenya, My wife and I met up with some old friends of mine who live in the far out boonies of Kenya. When you think of Africa and tribal lifestyle, this is what would come to mind. Even though modernization has effected almost every part of the world, this region has only seen a mild taste of it. Sure, you get people starting to trade their cattle for clothes, and a few buildings are popping up with cinderblock and cement, but life here was a very rare glimpse at a world without necessity of things.

Water is Life/ Selam Awassa

In Ethiopia, not only did we get to tour around and see a lot of cool stuff, but our friends gave us an opportunity to help out a bit. We worked alongside an NGO called
Water is Life, who was partnered with a local group Selam. Their goal consists of well drilling to make clean water accessible to people everywhere in Ethiopia. I got to take some pictures of the wells and the kids to promote their work. I also created a brochure for Selam's applicable technology program. Here are a few shots from that.
